Student Exchange Program Opportunities

Universiti Teknologi Malaysia welcomes you to the programme on behalf of Ministry of Education Malaysia, the Directorate General of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Culture, Indonesia and Office of Higher Education Commission, Ministry of Education, Thailand and the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization-Regional Centre for Higher Education and Development (SEAMEO RIHED) to the ASEAN International Mobility for Students (AIMS) Programme.

This program is fully-funded by the Ministry of Education Malaysia

The home university will cover accommodation, International Health Insurance, flight ticket and monthly allowance. The Host university will waive tuition fees, provide basic medical provision (in-house health centers), assist students in accommodation and engaged them with buddy/ tutor/counsellor/mentor to the student.

Terms & Condition

• Students must be Malaysian citizens, preferebly from among the B40 category
• Registered as an active student at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM)
• UTM Fulltime Undergraduate student (Bachelor Degree Program)
• Must complete atleast one semester study in UTM and must NOT in the last semester study in UTM
• Have a great point average of 3.0 or higher
• Possess a good command of the English Language
• Have good health condition
• Must agree to enroll at the host institution as described in the program plan
• Must agree to abide by the rules and regulations of the host institution or placement provider.
• Should demonstrate empathy and understanding of cultural difference
• Should demonstrate excellent personal skills.
• In  a case of withdrawal from participating in the program, students have to return the amount of scholarship given/paid to them by UTM

Important Notes

• Any academic related matters need to be discuss between student and their academic advisor / deputy dean (academic)/dean of the faculty
• courses/subject to be enrolled in need to be approved by academic advisor / deputy dean (academic)/dean of the faculty before going abroad
• Pay tuition fees at home university (UTM) before going abroad
• Please complete and submit Student Exchange Program Application Form to UTM International by email to globaleducation@utm.my
