On 27 July 2022, UTM received an official visit from Asst. Prof. Dr Suayip Turan, Head of International Office and Erasmus+ Institutional Coordinator from Cankiri Karatekin University, Turkiye under the Erasmus+ Staff Mobility program. The program began with an official welcoming and discussion with the Faculty of Social Sciences & Humanities (FSSH) led by Assoc. Prof. Dr Affandy Yahya, along with the faculty members, to discuss potential collaboration in the political science field and the planning of students and staff activities between faculties, including the Online Global Classroom (OGC).

On 28 July 2022, Dr Suayip was also invited to be the Speaker for the “Webinar Lecture on Democracy: From the Experts Perspective of Turkiye and Malaysia” held in UTM Kuala Lumpur and organized by Razak Faculty of Technology and Informatics in a hybrid via Webex and live streaming on Facebook. The sharing session was attended by academic and support staff and students from UTM. He also had the opportunity to visit and have a small meeting with Mrs Nik Masriza Zakaria, Deputy Chief Librarian from UTM Library Kuala Lumpur. His mobility programme ended with a cultural excursion around Kuala Lumpur city hosted by UTM International Kuala Lumpur on 29 July 2022.
For the record, this Erasmus+ Staff Mobility programme is funded by Erasmus+ under the sponsorship of the European Commission (EU executive body), the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA), the network of National Agencies in the countries involved, and the network of National Offices in several partner countries. This programme is expected to effectively impact the two institutions in sharing best practices and exchanging views in the field of higher education and further provide more collaborative ideas for future projects. UTM is also a partner in Erasmus+ with Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (VGTU), Lithuania, Middle East Technical University, Turkiye, Metropolia University of Applied Sciences, Finland, and some other European universities.
