Background:

A 2-week Summer School Programme on “Environmental Ecoexplorer Summer School” (E2S2) is going to be organised by University Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), together with Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) is design for the participants to have an awesome experience in discovering environment, UNESCO global geopark, geoforest and recreational park, heritage and and a range of cultural awareness. Interesting trips such as Malay Cultural Village, Sungai Melayu
Malay Kampung Trail in Johor Bahru, Kilim Geoforest Park, Langkawi Geopark, located in one of the most beautiful island in Malaysia, Langkawi island, an archipelago made up of 99 islands on Malaysia’s west coast, Gua Kelam (Cave of Darkness) in Perlis state are among the most popular tourist spots in Johor, Kedah and Perlis states are all included.

Objectives:

Participants will be also enjoying an experience of exploring Kilim Geoforest Park, Langkawi Geopark, which protect biodiversity in diverse habitats including mangroves, tidal flats, beaches, estuaries, coral reefs, caves, limestone and many more harbours for various life forms. Besides, participants will get an enchanting opportunity to take a stroll through the peaceful surroundings of the 370-metre long limestone Cave of Darkness 

Duration: Two (2) weeks.

Fees: USD 950 (include course materials, airport pick-up, accommodation, transportation, excursions, meals).

Application Deadlines: Two months prior to the commencement of course.

Day 7: Accommodation Check – In, Welcoming by Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP)

Day 8: Depart to Langkawi Island Explore Kilim Geoforest park

Day 9: Langkawi Island Hiking & Water Falls Langkawi Geopark, Talk by Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) Research Centre on Introduction to Langkawi Geopark

Day 10: Gua Kelam (Dark Cave) Exploration Trail

Day 11: Wang Burma Cave Exploration Cultural activities at Co-Curriculum Centre

Day 12: River Cruise @ Sungai Merbok UNESCO Mangrove Forest, Depart to Lembah Bujang Archaeological Museum

Day 13: – Depart to Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), Pauh Putra Campus
