Background: Since 2016. It is a 2 week programme equivalent to a 2- credit learning course in and out of lecture rooms/ laboratories in a Malaysian environment. It is a universal learning experience that will prepare you towards a professional career in a world without boundaries. Slight variations in content may be arranged to consider background of students (mechanical/civil/electrical engineering).
Details
Objectives:
- To improve self confidence and establish a good personal identity while developing good inter-personal skills.
- To increase knowledge in mechanical/civil/electrical engineering
Content: There are technical talks on current research, visits to research laboratories at UTM with demonstrations, and lab activities which include but not limited to;
– Introduction to biomass samples, (oil palm kernel) processing, characterisation
– Material analysis
– CAD/CAM-related activities
And you will be involved in presenting what you have learned and experienced. And have fun solving riddles in an explorace, testing your memory of what you have seen and heard.
Duration: Two (2) weeks.
Fees: USD1,000 per participant for 2 weeks with a minimum of 15 per group.
Application Deadlines: Application closes 2 months before each session.

Day 1: Meet & Greet FKM & UTM Tour
Day 2: Biomass Towards Sustainability: Talk & Lab activities
Day 3: Current Research: Talks on active Research of Today
Day 4: Tour of FKM research laboratories & Demonstration – Aeronautics, Automotive, Marine.
Day 5: Boat Tour – Mangroves protecting our beach
Week 2
Day 1: Visit to Putrajaya – Malaysian Administrative Center
Day 2: Overnight from Day 1
Day 3: Current Research: Reliability in Engineering
Day 4: Visit to a Pineapple Farm
Day 5: Explorace
